Overview
When New York City Department of Sanitation garage Supervisor Anna Winthrop finds Isaiah, a
homeless man she’s befriended, with his throat cut behind her apartment building, she decides
to investigate. But a case that appeared simple at first turns dark and dangerous as her search
takes her from the elegant art galleries of the Upper East Side and Long Island’s wealthy
village of East Hampton to Manhattan’s secret homeless encampments and the vast network of
abandoned subway tunnels beneath Grand Central Station. For Isaiah’s life was not at all what
it seemed, and more than a few people wanted him dead. With the help of her boyfriend
